You can’t make a leader without cracking a few eggs.

“A true friend is someone who thinks you are a good egg, even though he knows you are slightly cracked.” ~Bernard Meltzer

The same can be said about a good leader.  You’ve got plenty of staff with flaws.  In fact, I’d bet every one of them has something that you wish they did better (and they probably think the same about us).  The point is, whether it’s a friendship, a marriage, or an employee-employer relationship, we have to deal with each other’s issues.

The challenge of leadership is putting up with what you should, and drawing a line, so that behavior over the line is not accepted.  What’s the answer to where that line is?  That’s why you’re paid as a leader… Management is gray.  If you need help, that’s what we’re here for.

 Speaking of cracked eggs…
