Stay cool, not everyone has it as together as you do.

“How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.” ~Wayne Dyer

As a leader, you’ve got the additional responsibility of taking the high road.  Stay calm in an emergency, if someone says something that you think slights you, smile and don’t escalate the situation.  When you feel like it’s time to not be nice, I’d suggest talking to your leader.  You might be in the right, but you want to be sure that you’re not over-reacting.  Our job is to calm down situations, not escalate knife fights into gun fights.

When it is time to confront that troublesome person, be firm, don’t raise your voice, and call them out on their behavior.  Most of the time, you’ve just called out a bully, and bullies usually fold when called out by someone in a position of power.  Once they’ve apologized or backed, down, stay on the high ground and let it go.  Colin Powell said “Get mad, then get over it.” I’m adding (and don’t let them see your anger).

Stay cool out there, folks.  It’s going to be a good week.

 Speaking of treat…
