Are you the chicken or the hog?

You give a some of the time you have in life coming to work in exchange for money to pay for the rest of your life.  You give a part of your day to your job – you’re involved.  Some leaders give some of their time at home to their jobs.  They start early or work late, they worry about someone with troubles in the office.  They wake up at 3am and solve a problem that will save the company some money, or they create an efficiency.  They talk about work at home with their spouse, and their spouses help them solve a problem.  Some counselors go above and beyond the call of duty, and really make that special suggestion to a client – changing their lives for the better.  They care about what they do.

These people are giving more than the basic 40 hours per week.  Their job is more than just punching a time card.  These leaders want to make the company a better place to work, and they want to make the lives of their customers more complete.  That’s leadership.  That’s commitment (minus the pound of flesh the quote might suggest)!  Happy Friday, Leaders!  Enjoy the weekend – you deserve it!
