Tell the person in the mirror.

14 10 2015

“Don’t waste time on what’s not important. Don’t get sucked into the drama.  Get on with it: don’t dwell on the past.  Be a big person; be generous of spirit; be the person you’d admire.” ~Allegra Huston

In other words, work hard to be the person that you are proud of when you look in the mirror.  I’m not talking about being the right size (but that might be one standard, for you athletes).  I’m speaking from a leadership perspective.

Do you get all spun up when drama comes along, or do you pour oil on the water to calm tensions?  Do you spend time making excuses about why something happened in the past, or do you just suck it up and charge towards a resolution?  Do you make a mistake, then spend more energy hiding it than the energy you put into causing it, or do you laugh at yourself and point out your mistake, so others can learn from it?  Don’t answer me… Tell the person in the mirror.  They know if you’re telling the truth or not.

Speaking of wasting time…
