The unpopular decisions, and why you have to make them.

12 11 2015

“Sometimes, in order to follow our moral compass and/or our hearts, we have to make unpopular decisions or stand up for what we believe in.” ~Tabatha Coffey

The quote says it all, leaders.  If you do the right thing for the company, you’re likely going to be unpopular. It’s one reason why it’s difficult to be both someone’s leader AND their friend.  At the back of your mind, you have to know that one day, you might just have to tell your friend that they aren’t getting the job done.

Be nice to your co-workers, have fun at work, but keep that invisible wall up.  I’ve seen many leaders who couldn’t keep that separation, and it’s almost always been their downfall (or at least a big black mark against them).

Speaking of moral compass…
