Keeping your leadership tools polished.

5 01 2016

“A habit cannot be tossed out the window; it must be coaxed down the stairs a step at a time.” ~Mark Twain

To break bad leadership habits, make a conscious choice each time you are tempted to fall back on whatever that trait is (yelling, directing without listening, etc.) to try it different this time.  Take it one time at a time, and you’ll have a new, better habit.  Building a tool box of new habits is something that takes a whole career, sometimes.

That’s why there are repeated themes in these daily comics.  I only have a dozen or so different leadership tools in my own tool box, and some of my own still need a little polishing.  Consistently keeping on topic(s) in this forum probably helps me as much as any of you, if not more.

Speaking of the window…
