Team frustration, collaboration and celebration!

“Do not wait; the time will never be ‘just right.’  Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.” ~ George Herbert

This one is not a new lesson.  When it’s time to move, don’t navel gaze.  Start moving, gather up some momentum and buy-in, improve the tools, processes and synergy as you go, and by the time you get there, you’ll be humming along as a unified, successful team.

I look back on January, when I recall that we had some systems issues that needed to be worked out.  Both our service delivery teams, and our IT teams worked together to overcome these issues.  There was some friction and frustration, but there was never mudslinging.  People were professional, patient, and we got through it.  That same team that had a tough time hitting their numbers in January made a large jump in productivity in February, and knocked it out of the park in March!  I can’t help but believe that at least some of that win in March was due to the systems that the teams collaboratively built along the way.  I saw a bunch of high-fives and smiles yesterday that just might have something to do with that!

Speaking of tools…
