“When you wake up every day, you have two choices.  You can either be positive or negative; an optimist or a pessimist.  I choose to be an optimist.  It’s all a matter of perspective.” ~ Harvey Mackay

So, team, there’s this new opportunity.  It’s going to be a something different from anything we’ve done.  There’s a chance to make a lot of money, but if we mess it up, it’s going to cost us.  We’ve got to do a lot of training of our team, and there’s a lot of new reporting that we’ll have to figure out.  We’ve got to have a bunch of meetings to understand it and get ready.  There’s a pretty quick turn-around time on this, and we aren’t sure exactly how quickly it will ramp up.

Leaders, are you excited?  Are you terrified?  Are you worried?  Are you chomping at the bit?  Are you hoping that it doesn’t work out, so we don’t waste our time?  As large as this distribution list is, I bet every one of these questions was answered YES by someone.  That, my friends, is perspective, and it’s why we need a diverse team of optimists, pessimists, geeks, salespeople, and yes… leaders.  Perspective is such an amazing thing, ain’t it?  It’s only because of our diverse team that we can take on new, almost impossible projects, and knock it out of the park.

Speaking of perspective…
