The many faces of a Grandmother

24 08 2016

“ ‘Grandmother’ doesn’t mean that you have gray hair and you retire to stay home cooking cakes for your grandchildren.” ~ Carine Roitfeld

There are grandmothers here in the corporate world, my mother-in-law is a grandmother who also teaches marketing at a University, and there are the ones who stay home cooking cakes for the grandchildren (often while babysitting them).  The point is, that one word has numerous different manifestations in the real world.

Leader is another word that has many different manifestations.  Some of you are introverts, and some are extroverts.  Some like the thrill of closing a sale, and others would rather have a sharp stick in your eye rather than negotiate something.  Some manage outstanding tight-knit teams all located in one central area, and others manage a dozen branches all around the country.  There are even 2 very different leaders running for president (Ok, 4 actually).   There is no “look in the dictionary under leader and you’ll see this person’s picture.  So make your own way, leader.  Take the tips and tricks that you like from your co-workers, and give them some of your best stuff to consider adopting, too.

Speaking of grandmothers…
